Silver Lake Park and Beach (522 Silver Lake Drive) – 2.5 acre park located on Silver Lake Drive. The beach is considered one of the finest beaches in the area by visitors and is a popular regional attraction. Silver Lake Beach was donated to the City of Portage in 1948. This park contains restrooms, shelter, playground equipment, public sand beach and swimming area with slide, beach house with concessions and changing room, boat launch and a fishing pier. The beach and swimming area is staffed with lifeguards from Memorial Day – Labor Day. Crappies, Large Mouth Bass, Blue Gills and Northern Pike are just a few of the fish that can be caught in Silver Lake.
